This policy addresses the use of personal information by Innovate Higher Education. Innovate Higher Education is firmly committed to respecting your privacy and recognizing your need for appropriate protection of personally identifiable information you share with us. Included in this policy are members, consumers of products and services, and others who engage with us (referred to as “users”).

“Personally identifiable information” and “personal information” mean any information by which you, individually, can be identified (e.g., name, address, telephone number). Innovate Higher Education does not collect any personal information from general website visitors (https://www.innovatehe.com/). However, when users create accounts, log into their accounts, or request information from Innovate Higher Education, personal information may be requested. Information Use

Typically, Innovate Higher Education uses the personal information collected to: 

-Respond to inquiries and requests; 
-Communicate transactional information, such as receipts for products/services or event registration information; 
-Process client services; 
-Provide user access to electronic mailing lists, newsletters, or databases; and/or 
-Contact users about the products/services for which they have expressed interest. 

Sharing Information

Innovate Higher Education shares information about participants in events/conferences in the following ways: 

-Names and postal addresses are provided to Innovate Higher Education sponsors for that event/conferences only. 
-Email addresses are provided to Innovate Higher Education event/conference sponsors if users opt in to have their information shared. 
-Names, institutions/affiliations, and contact information is made available in the events/conferences site or app, unless users opt out. 
-Names, institutions/affiliations, and contact information is made available in the Innovate Higher Education event directory unless users opt out. 

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Changing/Updating Personal Information

Subscribers, clients, or those who sign up for other services may review and update the information about you or your organization at any time. Users who wish to amend or remove personal information stored by our organization should:

Cookies

Surveys

Occasionally, Innovate Higher Education engages in the use of surveys on topics of importance to its clients and Innovate Higher Education. Participation in such surveys is optional. The purpose of each survey is clearly defined, and participation in these surveys is completely voluntary. When Innovate Higher Education uses third-party services to conduct surveys, those services are prohibited from employing Innovate Higher Education users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose. Innovate Higher Education never shares users’ personally identifiable information with third parties without consent.

When Innovate Higher Education requests sensitive and/or personal information from users, the reason for the request and the intended use of the information is clearly stated. If more information is desired, the user should respond to the requestor directly, or contact us via email info@innovatehe.com  By consenting to this privacy policy, users provide Innovate Higher Education permission to collect personal data specifically for the purposes identified at the time requests are made. Consent is required for Innovate Higher Education to collect personal data, and it must be explicitly provided by users. By using the Innovate Higher Education website or engaging with Innovate Higher Education products/services, users consent to this privacy policy. Users may withdraw consent at any time via email (info@innovatehe.com) with a subject line of “Personal Consent Withdrawal.”

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Innovate Higher Education may use social media plugins from various social networking sites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to enable you to easily connect and share information with others.
